Session

The governing body of Elders in a particular congregation is called a Session. The Session exercises leadership, government, discipline, and has responsibilities for the life of a particular church as well as the church at large. Elders are elected to serve by the congregation and in one sense are representatives of the other members of the congregation.

The Board of Deacons

The Book of Order calls ordained deacons to a ministry of “compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress" (G-2.0201). Our Deacons are always out and about, bringing smiles to the faces of our older sick and shut-in members!
